We are a queer-led, grassroots organization rooted in social justice values, advocating for progressive change, celebrating Connecticut’s queer culture, and supporting statewide community-building efforts.
POWER
Grounded in the pursuit of equality, justice, and liberation, we recognize that LGBTQIA+ people experience intersecting and compounding forms of oppression. In response, we work in solidarity across social justice movements, understanding that anti-racism, gender equity, economic justice, reproductive freedom, health care, housing, food security, and access to education are all LGBTQIA+ issues. We are committed to advancing political and social change through collective action whenever possible.
JOY
Equality Connecticut’s primary goal is to foster a strong, connected queer and trans community across the state while creating spaces of joy, belonging, and celebration for LGBTQIA+ people. We advance this work by advocating for inclusive public policy, organizing and sponsoring community events, and uplifting queer joy throughout Connecticut.

The future of the LGBTQ+ community in Connecticut is one of strength, connection, and possibility—and Equality Connecticut is proud to help shape it. As queer and trans people across the state continue to organize, lead, and care for one another, we are building a more inclusive and resilient Connecticut for everyone.
